Welcome to our very first fruit and veg produce guide!  We have put together a list of produce that is in season which we hope will inspire your wood fired cooking.

There are a number of good reasons to eat more local, seasonal food:

  • to reduce the energy (and associated CO2 emissions) needed to grow and transport the food we eat
  • to avoid paying a premium for food that has travelled a long way
  • to support the local economy
  • to reconnect with nature’s cycles and the passing of time

Most importantly seasonal food is fresher and tends to be more tasty and nutritious. Why not try your local farmer’s market or pick your own!
